Like any other screw, the classic wood construction screw consists of a head, a shaft, a thread and a tip. The difference between the different types of screws lies in their special designs, which can vary based on the application. Furthermore, wood construction screws are often made with milling ribs and friction threads that improve or make it easier to push in the screws.

Depending on their function and application, our wood construction screws are produced with many different head shapes. We differentiate between a countersunk head, flanged button head, ornamental head and cylinder head. They are all characterised by different advantages and are accordingly suitable for different applications.

Eurotec wood construction screws are available with three different thread types: Partially threaded, double-threaded and fully threaded. On partially threaded screws, only the bottom part of the screw has the thread, whereas double-threaded screws have two threads. On the other hand, fully threaded screws have one thread that spans the entire length of the screw.

The screw tip is the final part of a wood construction screw and simultaneously a very important differentiating characteristic of the same. At Eurotec, we differentiate between a scraping groove, AG tip, and drill bit. The abbreviation AG stands for “Abgeklappter Gewindegang” (angled thread in German).
