When connecting timber structures, pre-drilling screw holes usually enables a reduction in the required distances and gaps. As a result, more screws can be installed in wood, resulting in smaller and more efficient wood profiles. Thanks to the special rBS DAG tip of KonstruX fully threaded screws from Eurotec, the same installation benefit can be achieved without pre-drilling, which saves a significant amount of time. Therefore, KonstruX screws are superior to comparable fasteners in axially loaded joints. The most popular applications include fastening beams with crossed pairs of screws and 45° connections in wood-to-wood or steel-to-wood joints.
The KonstruX screws, with a length of 80 mm to 800 mm, are available with two types of head: countersunk and cylinder heads. The galvanised coating is used in service classes 1-2, while the screw is available in A4 grade stainless steel for applications in service class 3. It is ideal for use in wood-based materials such as glulam, CLT and LVL for lifting purposes, for the subsequent reinforcement of tensile and shear loads perpendicular to the grain direction in notched, bent and conical beams, and for the reinforcement of compression loads perpendicular to the grain direction in load-bearing areas. In addition, the KonstruX screws can be used to produce wood-wood composite ribbed panels at the interface of a T-beam.
