Sustainability at Eurotec

Taking responsibility and shaping the future

Sustainability and an environmental awareness are more than just buzzwords for Eurotec – they form an integral part of our corporate culture. At Eurotec, we consider sustainable action an ongoing responsibility for all corporate divisions. Our goal is to make every one of our processes climate-friendly and environmentally sound and thus to take an active part in creating a sustainable future.

Solar technology

Our 300 kWp solar system installed on the hall’s roof makes the production at the Hagen site energy self-sufficient. It allows us to cover our energy needs and ensures a climate-friendly, independent and future-proof power supply.

Energy efficiency in our in-house production

The use of LED lamps and modern machinery reduces our energy needs and increases the overall efficiency of our production processes. The machines are equipped with intelligent control systems that detect machine downtimes and automatically reduce the machines’ energy consumption – all in the spirit of resource-saving manufacturing.

Focus on health and environmental protection

In order to protect our employees and the environment, our production uses high-performance extraction systems with electrostatic filters (99% separation efficiency). Furthermore, silencers fitted on the extraction systems and noise-protection cages installed around the cold forming machines provide reduced noise-pollution levels for both people and the environment.

Made in Germany

At our headquarters in Hagen, we use sustainable and responsible production methods: with our regional production, we ensure high quality standards and avoid long transport routes, which results in a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, and back the local economy.

Sustainable packaging

We invest in environmentally friendly materials and carefully designed packaging with clear colour coding and self-explanatory pictograms for increased sustainability and easier product identification.

E-mobility

Climate protection – a part of our daily journeys: with company-owned charging points at our site and a constantly expanding electric vehicle fleet, we promote emission-free driving.

Autonomous Energy Supply: 300 kWp Directly from the Rooftop

Our photovoltaic system, installed with state-of-the-art flat roof mounting, makes optimal use of every hour of sunshine. This way, we generate a large share of our electricity ourselves, reduce our CO₂ footprint, and set a strong example for sustainable production.

Measurably sustainable with clear goals and actions

We pursue a holistic sustainability strategy that combines ecological, social and economic goals. Our focus is on a reduction in our carbon footprint and the use of renewable energies as well as the adoption of responsible behaviours throughout the supply chain. Important guidelines for us in this regard are EcoVadis, the CarbonBorder Adjustment (CBAM) and our own carbon footprint.

Carbon footprint

We track our company's emission sources in order to set specific reduction targets and achieve long-lasting reductions in our CO₂ emissions.

EcoVadis

We use EcoVadis to have our sustainability performance evaluated externally and to implement targeted improvements in the areas of the environment, ethics, labour standards and the supply chain.

CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism)

By regularly reporting our product data on the EU CBAM portal, we ensure that our emissions are recorded transparently and that EU regulations on the CO2 border adjustment are complied with.

Questions and answers about CBAM

CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) is the EU’s carbon border adjustment mechanism. It requires importers to purchase carbon allowances for carbon-intensive goods such as steel or aluminium. The aim is to create a level playing field between EU producers and imports and to ensure transparency regarding carbon emissions across global supply chains.

The CBAM was introduced to avoid distortions of competition caused by differing climate standards and to prevent so-called ‘carbon leakage’. At the same time, the EU is thereby providing a clear incentive for more sustainable production processes worldwide and strengthening climate protection beyond its own borders.

Since January 2026, the CBAM has been mandatory for certain carbon-intensive imported goods. These include, in particular, steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Since then, companies have been required to purchase CO₂ allowances for such imports and to comply with extensive reporting requirements.

For you, CBAM means, above all, greater security and transparency. You receive products that comply with the law without having to deal with complex documentation or red tape yourself. At the same time, you benefit from supply chains that are easy to budget for and greater planning certainty.

The compensation levy arises from the mandatory CO₂ allowances and the administrative costs involved in complying with legal requirements. These costs are imposed by the government and are passed on transparently to ensure a legally compliant and sustainable supply chain.

No. CBAM is an EU-wide legal framework that applies to all market participants. Eurotec implements these requirements and passes on the resulting costs and obligations transparently – without any discretion in the fundamental implementation process.
